Chalet Clouseau au grand bornand

Chalet Clouseau is a modern chalet built of wood in the traditional style giving it a classic mountain look. It blends perfectly into the picturesque village of Le Chinaillon, the upper area of Le Grand Bornand resort. Inside, the wooden walls and the massive timber beams give it an air of solidity and warmth. It is fully centrally heated with underfloor heating on the main living floor.

Large interior folding doors connect with Chalet Maigret to accommodate parties of up to twenty with ease, when rented as Chalet Maigret Clouseau.

The first floor is the heart of the chalet and is made up of a large open plan room with separate areas for cooking, eating and relaxing. There is also a cloakroom and toilet.

The fully fitted kitchen has a high quality induction hob and extraction hood, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso machine and professional cooking utensils. It has ample storage space for all your provisions. We have tried to provide as much equipment as possible, and you will find everything from a fondue machine to a Weber barbecue with tools.

There are French windows that open out to the south-facing deck at the back making it ideal for sun bathing all year round, with beautiful views across and down the valley. There is also a table tennis table and equipment which can be set up on the deck.

The dining area has a large bespoke table and chairs with matching sets of glasses, crockery and cutlery for ten people. The solid wood table can be extended or contracted and allows total flexibility to maximise space in the living area.

The sitting room is well furnished with comfortable modern sofas (brand new in 2018) centred around a wood burning stove (logs are provided at no extra cost). There is a large flat screen TV with Freesat for English channels, a Bluray/DVD player, broadband internet as well as a good selection of books and games. A telephone is provided and comes with a special package that comes with unlimited calls to UK (and most European) landlines.

French windows lead out onto the balcony at the front of the chalet with good views to the Col de la Colombière. This Col is one of the classic routes of the Tour de France and the race passes over it most years in July.

On the second floor are three twin bedrooms, each with a balcony. There are also two bathrooms – one with a bathtub, basin and toilet and the other with shower, basin and toilet. On the ground floor there is a bedroom with two sets of full-sized bunk beds, and a shower room with basin and toilet.

Extra services include full provision of linen, a mid-stay clean and a personalised meet and greet.

Cots and high chairs available on request without extra charge – please note your requirements at the time of booking to ensure we have the necessary equipment ready for you.

The location of the chalet is unsurpassed – we are five minutes away from the main street with its bakeries and shops, restaurants, cinema etc...and just steps from cycling, hiking and ski trails. Nature abounds in this region and in Summer it is wonderful to relax in a deckchair on the balcony, watching the eagles soar across the valley in search of prey as the bells of the dairy cows sound out while the herd graze the upper grasslands that are snow covered pistes in the winter months.
