BOOKING
Chalet Maigret Clouseau is a large modern chalet built of wood in the traditional style giving it a classic mountain look. It blends perfectly into the picturesque village of Le Chinaillon, the upper area of Le Grand Bornand resort. Inside, the wooden walls and the massive timber beams give it an air of solidity and warmth. It is fully centrally heated with underfloor heating on the main living floor.
This luxury chalet is extremely well equipped and spacious (over 3,000 sq. ft), and comes equipped with a sauna that is ideal for relaxing at the end of a day’s cycling, skiing, hiking etc. It can be programmed to be ready upon your return at the push of a button!
The first floor is the heart of the chalet and is made up of two large open plan rooms with separate areas for cooking, eating and relaxing. There is also a cloakroom and toilet in each area.
The two fully fitted kitchens have high quality induction hobs and extraction hoods, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and professional cooking utensils. There is ample storage space for all your provisions. We have tried to provide as much equipment as possible, and you will find everything from a pierrade machine to weighing scales for easy baking. There is even a Nespresso coffee machine together with the kettle and toaster.
There are French windows that open out to the south-facing deck at the back making it ideal for sun bathing all year round, with beautiful views across and down the valley.
The dining area has two large bespoke tables and chairs with matching sets of glasses, crockery and cutlery for twenty people. The solid wood tables can be extended or contracted and allow total flexibility to maximise space in the living and dining area as you wish.
The sitting room area is well furnished and allows you to create one large sitting area with plenty of comfortable sofas, or to have two separate spaces – eg one for children and one for adults. There are two large flat screen TVs with Freesat for English channels, Bluray/DVD players, broadband internet as well as a good selection of books and games. A telephone is provided in case of emergency ; the number is +33 4 50 52 77 54
French windows lead out onto the balcony at the front of the chalet with good views to the Col de la Colombière. This Col is one of the classic routes of the Tour de France and the race passes over it most years in July.
On the second floor are six twin bedrooms, each with a balcony. There are also four bathrooms – two with a bathtub, basin and toilet and two with shower, basin and toilet. On the ground floor there are two bedrooms each with two sets of full-sized bunk beds, and two shower rooms with basin and toilet.
There are two heated laundry rooms with washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing equipment and the large garages can be used for storing all your sports kit. The Clouseau garage is particularly large and can accommodate many bicycles in the dry, ready for the next day’s ride.
Services include full provision of linen, a mid-stay clean and a personalised meet and greet.
Cots and high chairs available on request without extra charge – please note your requirements at the time of booking to ensure we have the necessary equipment ready for you.
