Chalet Maigret-Clouseau is situated in an elevated position at the far end of the village of Le Chinaillon, looking across the valley.

The village is on the D4 and the chalet is at the far end above the parking area for camper vans, following the Chemin du Lac.

The Col de la Colombière is closed during the winter months and access is from Junction 16 of the A40 at Bonneville via Entremont.

In the other months of the year, access is also possible up the Le Reposoir side of the Col via Junction 18 or 19 of the A40.

This is the steeper side from the North and the direction the Tour de France usually ascends
